Portfolios are not for UX Designers
What’s crazy is that folks claiming to be UX hiring managers, say they’ve reviewed thousands of portfolios and they also say they suck.
Look; we are not art school students. We don’t walk around the world with a portfolio. That’s just dumb and an absolutely deviation from what a true hiring process should be, for human factors engineers (HFE) and Human computer interaction (HCI) designers; AKA UX designers.
In addition, listen to what you are saying. You are saying that they all suck. Is that not a scientific indicator that there’s something broken with your process?
Furthermore, you’ve gone through the passive aggressive steps of creating an article describing how to make a portfolio — that meets your requirements and fits your standards. Yes; because we all want you work with you, so badly that we all flocked to this article to ensure our success in gaining a coveted spot on your amazing design team.
Wow. How dense can you guys be? Are you so full of yourselves that you lack the awareness to see what a ridiculous and bureaucratic cacophony you are creating?
